I'm a portrait artist, and I love drawing people and faces. I've been drawing most of my life, but my favorite style (white pencil on black paper) I've been doing for about 10-12 years. I consider my work to be Hyper-realism, as while I do base my work on photographic reference, I take the photos myself, and make creative changes to it to get the dramatic look I want.

I also do photography portraiture, but in a fantasy/illustrative style rather than a traditional one.

What can I say, I love the dramatic look of color or white on black. I still haven't gotten up the nerve to try something in white myself though. Maybe one day soon. ;)

I ran over to ST and added you as a contact there.

It's a great site for sharing and learning about colored pencil, pastels, and graphite work. Some really sweet, knowledgable, and terrific artists there.

Don't write yourself off yet! I've been at this a little longer than you have. ;) I looked at your gallery and your work reminds me a lot of my own pieces when I was your age. :) I've always loved drawing faces and I filled as many sketchbooks as I could with them. Keep going! :D
